Mission Division Minimize
The Mission Division is to share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ by identifying and responding to human hurts and hopes; interpreting and promoting the mission of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), involving and inspiring all people of the Presbytery to share in Christ’s ministry of peace and justice, supporting current local and international mission efforts of the Presbytery, and celebrating and discerning the Holy Spirit’s prompting on behalf of the Division.

Mission Committees Minimize

Alabama Tornado Recovery
On April 27, 2001 an outbreak of tornadoes devastated communities across the state. The presbytery is working with other community organizations toward recovery in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham which were particularly hard hit areas in our presbytery.

Congo Partnership
The Presbytery of Sheppards and Lapsley has a partnership with the Presbytery of Nganza and the Presbytery of Tshibashi located in the Kananga area of Congo.

Peace, Justice, and Hunger
This committee works to promote issues of hunger, peace, and justice within our presbytery and in the world.
